Mask’s SpaceX wins the competition with Jeff Bezos
According to Reuters, NASA will send a spacecraft to the Moon in early 2024. The deal to build the landing vehicle was struck last Friday with Elon Musk’s SpaceX. The first and third wealthiest people in the world have competed for the job of making this landing vehicle. SpaceX has had to contend with several companies to get the job at NASA. Among them were Amazon owner Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin and several others. Elon, the third millionaire, removed Jeff Bezos’ company and won the competition.
Nasa’s future plan for Artemis
NASA will send people to the Moon as part of Artemis’s expedition. Among the astronauts will be a woman who will be the first woman to land on the Moon. Another goal of the mission is to keep a black astronaut among the landers on the Moon. The spacecraft that SpaceX will build will be based on the design of their spacecraft called ‘Starship.’ The Starship is currently being tested in Texas, USA. The SpaceX deal with NASA is worth 2.9 billion.

Elon Mask’s Starship Rocket
Elon Musk’s company has long been working on a program to build a space rocket called Starship. The Starship is being built on the idea of spacecraft orbiting spacecraft in science fiction stories. Its long-term purpose is to establish human habitation on Mars. However, the spacecraft that will make SpaceX for NASA, its work will be different.
How will spacecraft be driven?
The spacecraft will take the astronauts from the original spacecraft in lunar orbit to the lunar surface and back to the actual spacecraft. It will have a cabin and two airlocks, allowing astronauts to walk on the Moon. It will be called HLS or Human Landing System. This HLS will be of much better quality than the lunar modules that astronauts landed on the Moon in the sixties and seventies.
The lunar module was much smaller in size. In it, two astronauts had to sit huddled. Thus, from 1989 to 1982, 12 astronauts landed on the Moon.
